Dive into 2025 with Tybee’s Polar Plunge

The 25th Annual Tybee Island Polar Plunge returns on January 1st, offering a refreshing way to kick off the new year. At noon, participants will gather at the Tybee Island Pier & Pavilion to take a quick dip into the Atlantic Ocean. The event has become a tradition for locals and visitors, drawing people of all ages to the beach for an exciting start to the year.

The morning begins with the Gang of Goofs costume contest and parade at 10:30 a.m. Teams showcase their creativity with colorful, quirky outfits for a chance to win prizes and the Le Gang of Goofs trophy.
